The UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) has officially launched a new ‘Startup Hub’ as part of the ‘Make it in the Emirates’ 2026 initiative. This dedicated platform is designed to identify and support the most promising industrial and technological startups in the country. By providing a curated environment for innovation, the hub aims to bridge the gap between emerging ideas and commercial success, reinforcing the UAE’s position as a global manufacturing center.
Located at the heart of the national industrial strategy, the Startup Hub allows founders to showcase their prototypes to a global audience of strategic partners, investors, and industry leaders. The platform offers more than just exhibition space; it facilitates direct connections with government entities and major industrial ‘offtakers,’ enabling startups to secure pilot projects and scale their operations. This initiative is a critical component of Operation 300bn, which seeks to increase the industrial sector’s contribution to the UAE’s GDP.
The hub is open to UAE-registered startups and individual innovators, including university students. The focus is on sectors that align with national priorities, such as artificial intelligence, robotics, sustainable manufacturing, and the circular economy. By fostering a culture of entrepreneurship within the industrial sector, MoIAT is ensuring that the next generation of ‘unicorns’ is built on a foundation of tangible, advanced technology.
In addition to exhibition pods, the Startup Hub features a series of workshops, founder talks, and investor-facing sessions. These are designed to enhance the investment-readiness of participating companies and provide them with the tools needed to compete on a global scale. This launch reflects the UAE’s commitment to building a knowledge-based economy that values domestic production and technological self-reliance, ensuring long-term resilience for the nation’s industrial landscape.
