For those familiar with the route to the Fossil Dunes, it is recommended to head in that direction. After passing the dunes, follow the pylons along the sand track. The nearest E road is the E65, but the most convenient access is from a turn off of the E30 near the breathtaking Al Wathba Wildlife Reserve (currently closed to protect nesting sites).
What are these salt lakes?
