You can apply for a virtual work visa, and a one-year residency permit for remote workers if you have the chance to work for any company anywhere in the world that offers the option of remote work and you want to settle in the UAE. However, you are not the only worker who has access to this residence option. Additionally, you can sponsor members of your family to move and reside with you in the UAE.
If the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, or Umm Al Quwain has previously granted you a virtual work visa, you must submit an application for sponsorship through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP).
How to sponsor your family with a virtual work visa?
The first thing to remember is that you must make sure your family members are already in the UAE in order to sponsor them while you are on a virtual work visa. They are able to enter the UAE on a visit or tourist visa.
You must apply for the sponsorship in person at an ICP service centre or typing centre that has been registered with the programme in order to apply for your family’s visa. Required documents
The following papers must be submitted, according to ICP, in order to obtain a virtual work visa:
- A copy of the results of the medical fitness exam. All UAE citizens over the age of 18 are required to take this test as part of the application and renewal process for a residency visa. The local government health department will issue you a fitness certificate if you pass the medical fitness test.
- Passport copy of the dependent
- Salary certificate or bank statement of the sponsor.
- A copy of the lease contract may also be required.

- Request the virtual work visa sponsorship form from a typing centre or ICP customer service centre and complete the application.
- After finishing the application, attach the required documentation.
- After that, submit the form and make the payment.
