The southern Obhur Corniche waterfront development project is being carried out by the Jeddah Mayoralty according to a schedule. The project is slated to debut at the start of the following calendar year’s second quarter. The construction project, which will cost more than SR229 million, will extend the seafront by 2.5 km along a surface area of 180,000 square meters.
One of the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 is to increase the per capita share of green spaces and recreational areas. These five projects, with a combined value of around SR288.27 million, cover development initiatives for municipal services, increasing quality of life, and doing just that. Projects to “humanise” the governorate are being carried out, according to the mayoralty.
The South Obhur coastal project will increase tourism in the Bride of the Red Sea by adding squares and recreational places, sand beaches, a bike route, a sea walkaway, green spaces, and parking lots, in addition to offering other profitable investment opportunities.
In addition to a marine scaffold, service and investment buildings, maritime works, and complete infrastructure facilities including an electrical network, a sewage network, and a drainage network for rainwater and severe rain, the project also comprises overall infrastructure development. The project will also include security cameras that will cover the entire property and be connected to a control room.
