Leading Chinese contractor Shaanxi Construction Engineering Group (SCEGC) has been given the primary construction contract for One Development’s flagship project, Laguna.
The contract signifies the project’s entry into full-scale construction and is a significant milestone in Laguna’s delivery.
According to the developer, the selection highlights ONE Development’s emphasis on execution excellence, international standards, and long-term delivery confidence through cooperation with highly regarded contractors.
Laguna, the first completely AI-integrated residential community in the area, features intelligent systems integrated into resident services, building operations, smart home automation, and amenities management via a single, integrated digital platform.
The project’s famous twin towers, which are united by the biggest podium-level lagoon in the United Arab Emirates, are surrounded by landscaped areas that combine residential living, open space, and over 40 top-notch amenities.
The project’s fast delivery program highlights ONE Development’s emphasis on execution discipline without sacrificing building quality, and this integrated strategy is intended to improve operational efficiency and daily life.
A thorough evaluation procedure centered on technical proficiency, governance standards, delivery capabilities, and alignment with ONE Development’s long-term development strategy is used to award the primary construction contract.
On the key milestone, Ali Al Gebely, the Founder and Chairman of ONE Development, said: “Awarding the main construction contract for Laguna marks a critical step in the project’s journey.”
Laguna advances as a defining project within ONE Development’s expanding portfolio as all piling and enabling work is finished, allowing the main construction to begin mobilization. Phases 1 and 2 are completely sold out, and Phase 3 is currently over 50% sold, indicating strong market demand as the project moves forward.
