Oman’s flagship urban project, Sultan Haitham City, continues its rapid expansion with the signing of a major development agreement for Neighborhood 6. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning (MoHUP) finalized the partnership with Al Adrak Real Estate to deliver more than 1,000 new residential units, a move that reinforces the city’s position as a premier destination for modern Omani living. The project, valued at approximately 185 million Omani Rials, spans 460,000 square meters and is designed to meet the highest international standards of urban planning.
This new neighborhood is designed as an integrated and sustainable community, featuring a variety of housing options that cater to different segments of the population. Beyond just housing, the development includes advanced infrastructure, public green spaces, and community service hubs. The goal is to enhance the quality of life for residents while ensuring family stability through well-serviced and walkable urban environments. This specific phase joins a growing list of successful partnerships, with over eight major development agreements already signed in the first phase of the city’s masterplan.
Investor interest in Sultan Haitham City remains exceptionally high, with reports indicating that over 74 percent of available residential units have already been sold. This strong demand reflects the market’s confidence in the government’s long-term urban strategy and the city’s focus on environmental sustainability. Infrastructure progress is also moving at a steady pace, with site preparation completed and bridge construction reaching the 75 percent mark. Power stations serving the initial phases are nearly 94 percent complete, signaling that the first residents will soon be able to occupy their homes.
Sultan Haitham City is a key pillar of Oman’s Vision 2040, aimed at diversifying the economy and providing sustainable housing for a growing population. By partnering with local and international developers, the Ministry is creating a blueprint for future cities that prioritize technology, wellness, and social integration. The success of Neighborhood 6 is expected to trigger further interest in subsequent phases as Oman continues to modernize its residential landscape.
