Parking your car in a pay lot for the general public in Dubai? The parking rules posted on the signboards surrounding the area with paid parking may require special attention. Knowing your parking fare in advance and when the parking zone can be free will help you save money. In reality, your seasonal parking card might not function in some areas.
This is a short guide on how to understand the parking signs in Dubai’s pay parking areas.
Alphabets on parking signs
The simplest approach to determine whether you are in a charged parking zone when you park anyplace in Dubai is to search for a signboard nearby. A blue and orange sign with the designated parking zone number and code will be present if the area is a paid parking area. You will notice a three-digit number followed by a letter as the format. For instance, 232C, the letter is the parking code, which establishes a number of factors, including:

Paid parking locations in Dubai
- Category 1 represents commercial areas and has the following parking codes: A and B.
- Parking lots in non-commercial or residential locations fall under Category 2, which has parking codes C and D.
Seasonal parking cards are only accepted in the locations mentioned above, according to the RTA call center at 800 9090.
- Based on the letters or codes, the other parking zones are designated. F, G, H, I, J, and K are those.
WHICH DAY IS PARKING FREE IN DUBAI?
On Sundays, all metered parking spaces are free from Saturday at 6 p.m. or 10 p.m. (depending on the zone) until Monday at 8 a.m. The multi-story parking garages in Dubai are the lone exception; they charge on weekends and holidays.
Code A
Roadside parking in commercial locations is designated by the parking sign code A, and may involve parallel or 45-degree parking. The maximum time a car may be parked in these zones, as determined by the parking ticket, is four hours.
Parking hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

Code B
This code applies to parking lots in commercial locations, and each ticket is valid for up to 24 hours of parking.

• Dh12 for four hours
• Dh15 for five hours
• Dh20 for 24 hours
Code C
Parking signboards with the code C designate roadside parking in non-commercial or residential locations. Parking in this area is only permitted for a maximum of four hours.
Parking hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

• Dh5 for two hours
• Dh8 for three hours
• Dh11 for four hours
Code D
Parking lots in non-residential areas are designated with the letter D and offer 24-hour parking.
Parking timings: From Monday to Saturday, 8 am to 10 pm

- Dh7 for four hours
- Dh10 for 24 hours.
Code F – Tecom area, which includes The Knowledge Park, Dubai Media City and Dubai Internet City

Code G – Downtown Dubai, Marasi Bay area and Dubai Health Care City (DHCC)
Parking timings: From Monday to Saturday, 8am to 10pm.

Code H – Dubai Silicon Oasis
Parking timings: From Monday to Saturday, 8am to 10pm.

Multi-storey parking lots
Multi-story parking lots are open every day of the year, including holidays and weekends. The rate is Dh5 for each hour plus VAT (VAT).
All parking areas, with the exception of multi-storey parking, are open on Sundays and public holidays.
Also, it’s crucial to be aware that the RTA’s paid public parking zone hours may alter during Ramadan.
