Manchester City, an English football team, and Ohana Development, a company located in the United Arab Emirates, have reached an agreement to begin the world’s first club-branded residential project in Abu Dhabi.
The Manchester City Yas Residences by Ohana project, which will be constructed along the waterfront of the Yas Canal, is the club’s foray into branded real estate in the area. The project will cover 1.67 million square meters, although launch dates and costs have not yet been revealed.
The project will be designed and constructed by Ohana Development, and a business statement states that the Manchester City identity will be incorporated into every aspect of the building, from lifestyle experiences to design aspects.
The project, according to City Football Group CEO Ferran Sorriano, is a significant step for the team. According to him, the project would put Manchester City in a high-end residential area while utilizing the team’s widespread popularity and robust local presence in a novel way.
Over the years, Manchester City has established a significant presence in Abu Dhabi that extends far beyond football.
Over 3,500 kids participate in City Football Schools programs throughout the emirate each season. The Manchester City Abu Dhabi Cup, the biggest youth football competition in the area, is also organized by the club and draws thousands of young players each year.
The club participates in health and education programs outside of athletics. More than 30,000 elementary school students took part in its Healthy Lifestyles Program, which promotes active living, just last year.
Building on this long-standing relationship with the emirate is the goal of the new residential project.
Ohana Development’s CEO, Husein Salem, stated that the collaboration demonstrates the company’s enduring dedication to Abu Dhabi.
According to him, the project’s goal is to build a residential community that is prepared for the future and in line with the emirate’s changing real estate and lifestyle goals.
