The Dubai Land Department (DLD) has taken a decisive step toward the total digitization of the real estate sector by signing eight landmark Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during the PropTech Connect 2026 event. These agreements, signed with several leading private developers and technology firms, are designed to integrate artificial intelligence and blockchain solutions directly into the property transaction process. The primary goal is to enhance market transparency and simplify the journey for both local and international investors.
The event highlighted that Dubai’s property market is entering a new era of ‘regulation-led innovation.’ By using digital tools, the DLD aims to provide real-time data governance and better asset management for homeowners. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Acting Director General of DLD, noted that these partnerships will accelerate the adoption of smart contracts, which can reduce the time required for property transfers from days to minutes. This initiative is particularly focused on helping first-time buyers navigate the market with more confidence.
Beyond transaction speed, the MoUs also target the growth of real estate investment funds (REITs) by making it easier for institutional capital to enter the market via secure digital platforms.
