1. Public transport
Every emirate in the UAE has a bus service, thus residents have access to affordable public transportation alternatives there. You can also ride the Metro, tram, or abra in Dubai. Obtaining a public transportation card should be your first step if you want to switch to using public transportation. You can utilize the Nol card in Dubai to access all of the public transportation options provided by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
Using a standard Silver Nol card would mean that, regardless of how many modes of transportation you would use, a trip from Al Qusais to Dubai Marina or Jumeirah Lake Towers would cost you Dh7.50. The cost of using public transportation can vary slightly depending on which Nol card you use, with the Gold card costing slightly more. For instance, if you commute back and forth for work, the cost would be Dh15 a day, or less than Dh350 per month if you have a two-day weekend. If you get a monthly pass, the price drops even further to Dh230 if you solely use it to get to work.
The “all zones” monthly pass, which costs Dh350, is an option if you want to move around the city and visit more of the “zones” that the RTA has designated for various parts of Dubai. A yearly pass for all zones costs Dh2,670, or merely Dh222.50 each month if you truly want to maximize your savings and use public transportation.
Consider using public transportation if driving to work is costing you more than that.

2. Get an e-scooter
