Relocating to a new home can be a daunting task, but fret not, as sorting out your utilities and internet connection is a breeze. You can complete the entire process online within minutes, without even leaving the comfort of your home.

If you’re moving within Dubai, transferring your electricity, water, TV, and internet connection from your old abode to your new one is a simple process. Here’s how you can do it.

How you can transfer electricity and water supply?

Dubai residents can easily transfer their Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) connection from their previous home to their new one through DEWA’s Move-to service. This online service also enables users to transfer the security deposit paid for the earlier property to the new one by entering the Ejari contract details of the new property.

To avail of this convenient service, simply visit DEWA’s official website at http://www.dewa.gov.ae and create an online DEWA account or log in with your UAE Pass. With just a few clicks, you can seamlessly transfer your DEWA connection and security deposit to your new home without any hassle.

This service is a great way to save time and effort, especially for those who are always on the move. By taking advantage of DEWA’s Move-to service, you can ensure that your electricity and water connection is up and running in your new home without any delay.

Required details

To conduct the service online, you must have the following details with you:

  • Mobile number
    • Email address
    • Business partner number
    • Ejari number and Premise number of the new property. You can find both these details on your new tenancy contract.

Total cost:

According to the Dewa website, the following fees apply for utilizing the move-to service:

  • Dh200 for activating and deactivating electricity and water for small meters.
    • Dh600 for activating and deactivating electricity and water for large meters.
    • Dh10 for registration.
    • Dh20 for the knowledge fee.
    • Dh20 for the innovation fee.

How to transfer your internet, TV, and landline connection?

Transferring your internet and TV connection is a simple and hassle-free process, but there are a few important factors to consider before applying for the service. Here are three key things to keep in mind:

  1. If you’re moving to a new emirate or an area where a different operator provides the service, you won’t be able to transfer your landline and internet connection. Instead, you’ll need to cancel your current account and apply for a new one with either Etisalat or Du.
  2. Make sure to bring your wireless router, set-top box, and cables with you to the new location. A technician will need these items to set up your connection properly.
  3. To ensure a smooth transition, it’s best to request the transfer a few days in advance. Keep in mind that it may take up to 24 hours for your internet, TV, and landline services to be fully operational.

By following these simple guidelines, you can ensure a seamless transfer of your internet and TV connection. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your service provider if you have any questions or concerns.

For Etisalat by e& users

If you are currently subscribed to Etisalat’s e& service, you have the option to transfer your telephone, TV, and internet (eLife connection) to another provider. This can be done through various channels such as Etisalat’s toll-free call center, the ‘My Etisalat’ app, or by visiting one of their Business Centres.

To ensure a seamless transfer, it is recommended to contact Etisalat’s customer service representatives who can guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have. Additionally, the ‘My Etisalat’ app provides a convenient and user-friendly platform to manage your account and request any necessary changes.

Required details for the transfer

To relocate your current eLife services to a new location, it is imperative that you apply for the service rather than requesting a new account. In order to do so, you will need to provide us with the following details: the location and address of your new residence, the date you plan to move out and disconnect your services, and the installation date for your new home. Additionally, please provide us with the Makani number for your new address.

Please note that there is a fee of Dh150, excluding Value Added Tax (VAT), for this service

Du users

As a valued Du user, we offer you the convenience of transferring your Du services through two easy channels:

  • The Du website – du.ae.
  • The Du app – available for Apple, Android, and Huawei devices.

To ensure a smooth transfer, please provide the following important details and documents:

  • A copy of your tenancy contract or title deed if you own the property.
  • The location and address of your new home.
  • The move-out and move-in date.

Please note that a moving fee of Dh100 will be charged on your next bill.

We understand that moving can be a stressful time, but with Du, we strive to make the process as seamless as possible. Trust us to handle your transfer with care and efficiency.
