Through the Digital Sharjah website, ds.sharjah.ae, Sharjah residents may now effortlessly attest to their tenancy contract online and obtain their utility connection in one transaction.
Residents used to have to travel to Sharjah City Municipality (SCM) to acquire a tenancy contract verified before going to Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) to request a utility connection.
Currently, the “Move In” application, which is accessible on the Digital Sharjah website, syncs the utility connection service from SEWA and the attestation of rental contracts from SCM.
On October 13, the Sharjah Digital Office (SDO) made a new service public.
With the “Move-In” service, both the landlord and the tenant will be able to register a SEWA account and digitally sign and confirm their rental agreement on a single platform.

How to attest your tenancy contract online?
Users who have a UAE Pass account are the only ones who can access Digital Sharjah services. To sign into your account if you have a UAE Pass, click the profile symbol in the top right corner of the screen.
The following is how attesting your tenancy contract operates, according to Digital Sharjah:
- In order to authenticate the rental agreement, the landlord must first submit a request on the website and include information about the property, including its kind, address, and owner.
- The landlord must upload the rental agreement to Digital Sharjah after filling up the necessary details.
- The tenant will then be alerted to study and electronically sign the rental agreement on Digital Sharjah using the UAE Pass app.
- After logging in with your UAE Pass account, select “Home” and then “Real Estate” from the category drop-down menu. Then, to access the online application, scroll down until you see “Move-In, [service] by Sharjah Digital Office” and click on the green “Start the service” button.
- The signed contract is then forwarded to SEWA and SCM for validation.
- The tenant can use the Digital Sharjah website to pay the SEWA deposit and associated municipal costs after the document has been digitally authenticated.
- Once everything is done, the tenant receives the digitally attested contract and SEWA immediately turns on their utility connection.
The landlord and tenant will both be informed of the application’s status via the email and mobile number they registered with UAE Pass.
