Aldar Properties has announced the launch of Saadiyat Grove, a new luxury retail and fine-dining project positioned on Saadiyat Island. This significant development aims to expand Abu Dhabi’s lifestyle offerings within the prominent Saadiyat Cultural District, located strategically between the Zayed National Museum, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, and Louvre Abu Dhabi. Saadiyat Grove is set to open its doors in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The project encompasses a comprehensive array of uses, featuring over 100 global brands in its retail segment, alongside signature dining establishments. Notably, Saadiyat Grove will introduce approximately 20 new-to-region concepts, including prominent food and beverage additions such as Momofuku and an Alain Ducasse Café. Beyond retail and dining, the development integrates luxury hotels, wellness and longevity centres, premium office space, and more than 1,000 residential homes distributed across three branded developments.
Key amenities within Saadiyat Grove include Saadiyat Forum, a 7,000 square metre space dedicated to culture, hospitality, luxury offerings, and a cinema. Fitness provisions are substantial, featuring a 2,000 square metre gym operated by BXR, a London-based luxury fitness brand. Additionally, a 2,200 square metre executive club, connected to the retail section, will provide private offices, boardrooms, and member lounges, complete with concierge and hospitality services.
According to Talal Al Dhiyebi, group chief executive of Aldar, Saadiyat Grove is poised to establish luxury retail as a fundamental new pillar of Abu Dhabi’s economy. The project is designed to elevate Abu Dhabi’s retail proposition, catalyse private-sector investment, increase visitor spending, and generate employment opportunities.
This launch underscores Abu Dhabi’s ongoing strategy to develop Saadiyat Island into a leading cultural, residential, and tourism destination. The island continues to attract significant investment in museums, hospitality, and residential projects. Complementing Saadiyat Grove, Aldar recently launched Sei Saadiyat, a development offering 778 homes across six buildings within the Saadiyat Cultural District. Sei Saadiyat focuses on wellness and restorative living, featuring one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, as well as two-bedroom lofts.
Aldar’s robust development pipeline supports these strategic initiatives. The company reported a group development backlog of Dh71.6 billion ($19.49 billion) at the end of June, with Dh59.9 billion attributed to projects within the UAE. This substantial backlog is anticipated to drive Aldar’s revenue recognition over the next two to three years, reinforcing its position in the Abu Dhabi real estate market.
