Dubai’s extensive public transport network has further integrated with the national infrastructure, as Etihad Rail passengers can now acquire a Nol one-day pass directly with their train booking. This new initiative significantly enhances onward travel within Dubai, providing a seamless experience for those arriving via the UAE’s federal railway system. The integration allows passengers to utilise Dubai Metro, Tram, and RTA buses with a single QR code, streamlining urban mobility from the moment they disembark the train.
Available in both regular and Gold Nol pass options, this convenience facilitates direct connections from Etihad Rail’s Al Yalayis Station. A dedicated pedestrian footbridge links Al Yalayis Station directly to the Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station, serving as a critical interchange point. This physical link ensures that travellers can transition efficiently from the inter-emirate rail service to Dubai’s city-wide public transport grid without needing to purchase separate tickets or passes.
The Nol one-day pass is valid across eligible RTA public transport services within specified zones throughout Dubai. This includes the emirate’s modern Metro lines, the tram network, and various bus routes, offering comprehensive coverage for most urban destinations. However, it is important to note that the pass does not extend to intercity buses or seasonal public transport services, maintaining its focus on internal Dubai travel.
This strategic collaboration between Etihad Rail and Dubai’s RTA underscores a broader commitment to developing interconnected and efficient transportation solutions across the UAE. By simplifying access to Dubai’s public transport infrastructure for incoming rail passengers, the initiative addresses the growing demand for flexible and integrated travel options. It caters to business professionals, tourists, and residents whose final destinations extend beyond the Etihad Rail station, promoting greater use of public transport and reducing reliance on private vehicles for the ‘last mile’ of their journeys.
The move is expected to boost the convenience factor for Etihad Rail users, positioning the rail service as a more attractive option for those travelling to Dubai for work or leisure. It reflects Dubai’s continuous efforts to enhance its urban planning and connectivity, ensuring that its infrastructure remains responsive to the needs of a dynamic and expanding population.
