Abu Dhabi National Investment and Development (ADID) has announced ambitious plans for ZPTM Abu Dhabi, an integrated destination poised to redefine the emirate’s sports, education, technology, and residential sectors. The comprehensive masterplan, unveiled on October 7, outlines a phased development with full completion anticipated by 2032.
The vision for ZPTM Abu Dhabi was presented by Shamsa Alfahim, Chief Executive Officer of ADID, alongside Sir Kenny Dalglish, representing a leading international sports development group. The project is designed to create a holistic hub that consolidates elite sporting facilities, advanced athlete development programmes, specialized education, sports medicine, and cutting-edge performance technology within a single location.
ZPTM Abu Dhabi’s detailed plans encompass a broad spectrum of facilities. These include state-of-the-art multi-sport training venues, a dedicated professional athlete campus, sophisticated recovery and medical facilities, and robust testing and analytics infrastructure. The development will also feature a dedicated esports and mind sports centre, a sports and wellness hotel, and integrated residential neighbourhoods, further complemented by a boarding school.
Sir Kenny Dalglish underscored the significant community benefits of the project, describing ZPTM Abu Dhabi as a “fantastic opportunity for the local community.” He highlighted the broad appeal of the development, stating, “Of course, it will be an incredible sports destination but it’s not just for sports, it’s going to be for everybody.” Dalglish further elaborated on the diverse offerings, noting the inclusion of residential accommodation, world-class sports facilities, and training centres, all of which are expected to make a substantial positive impact on the community.
The former Liverpool legend also praised Abu Dhabi’s remarkable transformation and growth over the past decade. “What a place it is, I haven’t been here for 10 years, and it feels like so much has changed and developed for the better in that time,” Dalglish remarked. He expressed his enthusiasm for involvement in a project that he believes will make a lasting contribution to Abu Dhabi.
This strategic collaboration between ADID and its international partners reinforces Abu Dhabi’s commitment to enhancing its sports infrastructure and fostering community well-being. ZPTM Abu Dhabi represents a significant investment in creating an environment where athletic excellence, educational advancement, and technological innovation converge, further positioning Abu Dhabi as a premier global destination for sports and lifestyle.
