Residents of the UAE can now quickly apply over WhatsApp for a birth certificate for their newborn baby.
Parents can now order a birth certificate through the Ministry of Health and Prevention’s (MOHAP) exclusive WhatsApp number, which is +97142301221.
So, here is everything you need to know about this service and how it functions.
This service, according to the MOHAP phone center at 800 111 11, is for newborns who were just born at a public hospital under MOHAP management.
When registering their child’s birth with the facility, parents in the UAE must provide the hospital with a number of documents. These papers include a certified copy of the marriage license as well as copies of the parents’ passports and Emirates ID cards. Your contact information, including an email address and a mobile number, must also be provided.
After the baby is born, you will be given a “Qaid” number, which serves as a birth notification number for each child born in the United Arab Emirates. The electronic birth notification that the hospital gave you contains the Qaid number.
You can then apply for a birth certificate online or through the new Whatsapp service after you receive your Qaid number.
How to issue a birth certificate on WhatsApp?
You must add MOHAP’s phone number (+971 42301221) as a contact on WhatsApp before you may apply for a birth certificate through that platform.
To start a chat with the virtual assistant, type “Hello” next.
After that, you will be asked to select one of the two options:
- Birth Certificate
- Track Application

Tap on the ‘Birth Certificate’ option and follow the steps below:
Step 1: Register your email address with MOHAP
You will receive a mail from MOHAP with a link leading you to their website’s ebirthdeath.mohap.gov.ae platform first. If you already have a MOHAP account, you can log in using it, or you can use UAE Pass. In order to create a MOHAP online account if you don’t already have one, you’ll need to provide your full name, mobile number, email address, and Emirates ID number.
Return to WhatsApp after successfully logging in and send your email address in the chat. Your email address will then be verified as being registered with MOHAP by the system.
Step 2: Enter the OTP for verification
A One Time Password (OTP) entry will then be required for authentication. The OTP will be sent to the email address you registered with.
You will then be requested to enter your child’s full name and birthdate so that the system can verify the information with the data it already has.
Step 3: Choose the delivery method and pay for the certificate.
Once the birth details, such as the child’s name and birthdate, have been verified, you will be prompted to pay the birth certificate price via a website link.
Cost:
MOHAP states that an Arabic copy of the birth certificate is required. You can also ask for an English translation.
Dh65 for Arabic birth certificate.
Dh65 for an English birth certificate (if requested)
After paying the price, you can select between having it delivered by courier or picking it up in person at a MOHAP public health facility.
Your home address must be entered along with an additional fee of Dh20 to Dh25 if you select the courier service option.
The MOHAP website states that you will have the birth certificate in two working days.
